Achievement

Major achievements in recent years (3 years):

Bangladesh Water Development Board under the Ministry of Water Resources is working on flood control, river erosion prevention, river dredging, irrigation management development, waterlogging elimination and land reclamation with the aim of protecting people's lives from flood damage and increasing food production. In the last 3 (three) years, 30.058 km of river bank conservation work has been implemented under various projects in Western zone of Bangladesh Water Development Board, Faridpur. Also construction of 1 water control infrastructure, re-digging of 100.13 km of drainage canals, 57.220 km of river digging and 102.677 km of river dredging works have been implemented. As a result, adjacent areas have been spared from overflowing rivers and many lands have been made flood-free.
